Rachel has loved Ultimate ever since she started playing in a park behind her house in Kansas when she was 16 years old. Within a year, she had quit her other team sports and moved to an international school (United World College) where she could learn about peace building on and off the field. At the University of Texas at Dallas, Rachel helped grow the school’s team while playing competitively on a local women’s club team and in various leagues. Then she moved to Morocco for five years, where the Ultimate community is limited, so she facilitated Ultimate workshops when possible. She researches sports for development and peace and coaches with UP while studying abroad during graduate school. Rachel hopes to work full-time using Ultimate for community development and interpersonal conflict management training in the future.
