Following the great time we had playing in the Paideia Cup in Atlanta, Asmaa, Mais, Yonatan, Hassan, and Rotem, with Abe in tow, flew to Chicago to introduce the Windy City to Ultimate Peace. After taking in scenic Lake Shore Drive and Northwestern University’s Evanston campus, we shared in a Passover seder at Glass home in Deerfield.
Tuesday was a big day. Rotem, Mais, and Nancy Glass were guests on Chicago Public Media’s world affairs show Worldview radio show, speaking to their experiences in UP. Meanwhile, Asmaa, Yonatan and Hassan were across the street at the Fox Chicago studio being interviewed for the local midday news. We celebrated with a snowball fight.
Tuesday evening we did a presentation and panel for local Ultimate players of all generations, and Wednesday we had a presentation and panel for the community at large.
Today we went ice skating, disc golfing, shopping and general relaxing in preparation for the long flight home tonight.
With the trip coming to an end, we are all exhausted, but fulfilled. We reached or surpassed all of our expectations and are now looking forward to the stretch run before camp. [Which starts in two short months!!!]
