I began playing ultimate my freshman year in college in 2010. I stumbled on a group of people running around barefoot and laying out in the mud. A friend pushed me to go to my first practice and I immediately fell in love with the sport and the culture of ultimate. My junior and senior year I co-captained the team. When I graduated I moved to Burlington, VT and had an opportunity to coach as well as play. In 2015 I guest coached Colchester High School’s open team. That summer I joined the Burlington Women’s team, Sugar Rush, for their inaugural season. In 2016 I co-founded a girls’ team at Champlain Valley Union High and co-coached the University of Vermont Women’s B team.
I found out about Ultimate Peace through a coach, Jim Levine, who attended Camp Unirondack in the Adirondacks Mountains in New York State. I was running programs for kids and he saw that I also had a passion for ultimate and urged me to check out this amazing program. I am so excited to be part of the Ultimate Peace in the Middle East family and about all the fun this summer will bring!
