Lauren Feder first discovered Ultimate as an eight-year-old at summer camp. The game there was played with a gigantic foam frisbee, which Lauren thought was called the ultimate frisbee; when played with a disc of normal size, she assumed the game was simply called ‘frisbee’. Upon discovering her mistake, Lauren was sorely disillusioned and did not play Ultimate again until the end of high school, when she was slowly won over to the side of the average-sized plastic disc by the wonderful community that came with it.

Lauren is currently a teacher, frisbee player, and coach in the magnificent city of Philadelphia.
