My name is Matthew Wieseltier. I live in Washington, DC and I am a sophomore at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Maryland. I learned to play ultimate at Camp Ramah in New England during the summer after 8th Grade. Since then, I have played on a team made up of players from my school and a couple other area schools. We were Maryland State Champions my freshman year. I also hope to participate in YCCs this coming summer.

When I first heard about Ultimate Peace, I thought it was too good to be true. Due to my Jewish faith, I have had a strong connection to furthering the cause of peace in Israel from a very young age. I also love frisbee. When I found out that someone had combined these two passions of mine, my first thought was to find out a way that I could get involved. Through my participation in Ultimate Peace this summer, I hope to build lasting friendships, become part of a broader family, build connections between people who otherwise may not have these connections, have fun playing the sport that I love in the place that I love, and work on my Arabic.
