Shira was raised in Vancouver, Canada, where she first fell in love with ultimate while playing for the University of British Columbia’s women’s team. After gradating from UBC with a Masters degree in journalism, her passion for sports led her to the United Kingdom, where she worked as a Media Coordinator for the London 2012 Olympic Committee and played ultimate with Thundering Herd, a top UK mixed team, in her spare time.
