Troy has been playing, coaching, and observing ultimate for 23 years, starting in college where he founded the program at UNC-Asheville before moving on to club play with Raleigh Ring of Fire, North Carolina coed teams, and Raleigh Boneyard, playing in 9 USAU club nationals between them.

He also played in the AUDL with the Indianapolis Alley Cats 2012-13, and has won 2 gold medals with Team USA in the Masters division for Beach Worlds in 2011, and the Masters division of WUFC Worlds in 2016. Along the way, he has coached at the youth, college, club, and semi-pro levels, albeit all too brief stints at each!

Troy has also observed at several USAU nationals, was the tournament director of USAU’s 2013 US Open, and co-director of USAU’s 2016 College Nationals.

Professionally Troy works a wine sommelier and director in North Carolina, and loves to travel to wine regions all around the world when possible. He married his wife, Sarah, in 2016. They met at a 2013 wedding of two Ultimate players!
