Sean found out about ultimate during high school cross country practices and began competitive play at the University of Iowa his freshman year in the fall of 2006. Searching out ultimate wherever it could be found, he participated in summer leagues in Chicago and Iowa City and even started an ad-hoc league in his hometown of Naperville, IL with a longtime high school friend. Sean has always searched out the most competitive venues, playing in nationals at the collegiate and club (open and mixed) levels. With the experience of several seasons of captaining, he began coaching in 2012 at Iowa while finishing grad school and coached Chicago Ultimate Training that summer. He now resides in Portland, OR and is head coach for the Lewis & Clark College (DIII) Open team. This summer will be Sean’s first experience with UP and his first journey to the Middle East!
